I have no problem with this anyhow, since we have teleporters now.
you could also build a recycler at your super alloy mine and recycle one super alloy to get one aluminium. (which means you are using 9 super alloy chunks to create a rod, but you get rid of the other components that get recycled).

But I have a spare quartz so getting rid of 2 fusion reactors should let me build 2 teleporters and test them out at least, if the 3 crystals I found in the quartz cave can be collected that will give me 3 at leaast (they seem pretty small, I'm wondering if, like the original zeolite, they grow as you progress?)
But, if i go to iridium, i collect ore, then make rods in base nearby, and bring it to main base via teleport.
But, with s/alloy, i need dizasseble 1 s/alloy, take aluminium, take 8 ore, make 1 rod, dispose 5 ore, that not needed after dizassemble....
Its a bit annoying to do so...
