That sometimes leads to a fun game where I try to figure out where the hell I was so I can find my death chest.
And please do not try perma death... that WILL make you rage quit not only the game but even RL...
I have just had enough of this glitch especially on the UNdeveloped rock terrain that allows you to clip right through it.
Speaking of which, my uranium rocket exploded because I touched while it was launching, destroying every last crum of my base

You do have to edit your save file but it is fine.
Oh this is helpful. I've had this happen and just thought my stuff was deleted in a bug. Now I can fix it if it happens again. Thanks.
Some of that tedium helps keeps things exciting. The world seems bigger when it's hostile, and having to watch your o2 supply makes traveling long distances an undertaking instead of just a matter of patience while you run/jetpack. It's why Survival mode is so popular in games like Fallout 4 or Minecraft - having needs that must be met gives more meaning to what you're doing. For instance, I really do think more games would benefit greatly from the introduction of bladders and colons that must be voided, which necessitates plumbing and working toilets, which gives you another reason to maintain a water supply.
Not that there's anything wrong with Relaxed modes - sometimes players just want to enjoy the ride without having to hang on for dear life for the sake of "excitement".
