Is performance in this game good?
I can't find any benchmarks at all. I have rx 570. OC'ed monitor to 75 Hz.

Is this game locked to 60 or not? Also, can I even reach 60?

The only performance hit I've had is when it rains. I get a fraction of a second screen freeze every 2 or 3 seconds while its raining. Other than that it has run flawlessly everywhere else.

I have an i5-6600 with 40G Ram with a GeoForce 750 Ti Card

I run 3840x2160 at 60fps with ultra detail... the only performance issue is when switching to maximum my fps drops to about 5-15fps. But i'm not sure what 'maximum' enables, as it doesn't actually look any different... my guess is that it's changing the draw distance so that things don't disappear in the distance, but it's too slow to really pay attention and figure it out.

I'm probably not the best person to ask though, as i'm running a Ryzen 7 2700X @ 3.7Ghz, 32G DDR4 and RTX 2080 with m2 boot drive and ssd game drive. I would be concerned if I didn't get 60fps at ultra level, but it is sad that I can't play it on maximum.

I've put close to 100 hours in to the game including the demo, dev branch, and now EA. I've not had any performance glitches/slow downs, except the slight pause that occurs when it autosaves.

My performance has been fine...BUT...I've turned down my graphics settings from Ultra to simply high as I noticed my GPU temperatures were running high (~55c) which is several degrees warmer than when I play New World. Typically most of my games are running in the 47-50c range

Thats not even remotely considered high anything between 65-85 is safe zone for gpus while gaming/ underload granted they are made to run at 110 but thats defiantly considered overheating

my rx 580 with no OC can run up to 85-90C which is NOT ok, it used to be colder before, and I did change the thermopaste and wiped the dust and everything, nothing works, dunno what to do. Pretty sure if I allow it to surpass 100c that would be catastrophic for my gpu

Performance goes down a lot when you have build a lot of things and have a lot of plant growth.

For rx 580 you should not go over 72 C or you will damage card soon

This!... so much This!
I have capped my gfx to 100hz in windows and for a long time the fps rarely ever got below 100, but with progression comes big base, lots of machines, lockers, trees, flowers etc. I'm at end game(fish) and I am lucky if I can find a place on the map where I get more than 60 fps, mostly it is in the range of 30-40 fps.
And my pc while not being at the very top is still quite beefy, I9 9900K, RTX2080TI, 32 gb ram running from a 1 tb nvme ssd drive, so I would say performance is pretty good in the beginning, but you will most likely see a big performance drop as you progress in the game, still runs decently though on a good gaming pc, but it does need a lot of optimization which is quite normal for an early access game :)

I'm playing on a potato, and performance only slows when I'm loading an already-existing game, and even then it only slows down for a few seconds.

EDIT: Also, I have to spread things like seed spreaders out into different areas of the map. More than two in a single area causes some problems.

ya for the 580 you don't want to be running that hot at all times.

whats the idle temperature? if its above 55 would be bad airflow with your computer case or a fan problem.

My idle is like 32 C at 1400 rpm
