Ice caves aren’t melting?

For me the ice caves aren’t melting. My heat level is 171nK and rising. Is there something I have to do or is this glitched? The requirements for them seem to be 100.

yea dude i have the same problem
my cave aint melting and im at 200nk+ heat
anyone know why?

It sucks because I need the stuff in there to build the ore extractor, and other late game stuff, I cant really do much more.

ice caves take awhile to melt they don't just happen instantly like real life i mean come on use some common sense it's not like were heating up the planet via pizza roll ovens or planting plants inside tubes which don't have holes to let out the oxygen.

i think it just takes time, i noticed the same thing in my game but as the lake filled up and i checked back in later the ice had melted enough to get in the cave

We're just looking for some indication that it's melting sometime in our lifetime. Game gives you no indication that it's going to be an hour, a day, week or 2 years.

does everybody miss the second part of my sentence where i say how the game logically makes no sense without directly saying it? directly contradicting the fact you can use common sense in a game.

like let me show you
"it's not like were using pizza roll oven to heat up the planet" this was a reference to raptors stream where he asked chat to put pizza rolls in the t1 heater which is kinda like a oven not so obvious but the second one should be "or planting plants inside tubes which don't have holes to let oxygen out" which if you look at the vegetubes there is no holes inside of it which make no sense at all and should clearly indicate the game doesn't make any sense meaning you can't use common sense to know how things work in the game.

this was supposed to be a jab at the game/dev for not making any sense and causing player confusion basically if the game was more realistic and had some clue on thing and more details like melting particles you'd be-able to use common sense to deduce that's what happening but since the game makes no logically sense you can't use common sense which leads to player confusion.

i've got a few patches of ice left in a couple of caves, i think it's tied in some weird way to both temperature and terraforming tier. I've hit certain thresholds temp wise only to go to the ice caves and find the ice still there, but when i moved on the next terraforming tier and revisited the caves, the ice walls are then gone. I would suggest waiting till you hit the next terraforming goal and then revisiting the caves with ice to see how much melts at those stages.

When the ice is melting at some rate (way beyond the temperature it says it needs to be) You can actually see the ice shelf slowly move down every 10 seconds or so. That's when I found out it was actually melting.

It's just absurdly slow. I still have ice melting, and I've already reached the stage of Insects.

We just need better indication that something is happening. Maybe even a "this ice wall will open in x number of days..."

Any of you moved the save from Demo to Early Access version?
Some have mentioned troubles with those saves.
There's 2 steps with Ice including the 100 nK level and it goes slowly.
I'm probably done with the game's current state as I've got all current achievements and unlocked everything in the blueprints after nearly 40 hours playtime.
I still have a few ice chunks on the map as a reminder of where there was ice walls.

Also, there seems to be a bug, currently, where some left over ice chunk will never melt regardless of how hot it gets
