Once you can place a launch platform, do so. This will allow you to get some of the rarer resources. After that, only brain farts will let you run out some of those harder to get ones.
If you went overboard with building, then adding another tier of solar panels isn't going to fix your issue. Only build what your supply can handle, that's why you're given a monitor to see how much power you're generating and using.
As far as lining things up, try using the foundations to help. They are cheap and easy to guide off of.
Just wait, I've got nearly 6700 consumed currently. 10 T2 Nukes an 2 Fusions. I can't decide between going the easy route and building another Fusion, or saving my Zeolite for more T3 tree spreaders, which would be more work getting nukes, but ultimately give me more GTi/second potential.
Set up 1 or 2 t1 miners at the Aluminum Biome. It will collect Aluminum (along with other basic mats). Stop by every so often and check on them, or build a small one or two room base with food and water and just wait.
Zeolite starts spawning after a certain point, and becomes plentiful. I have a locker full.
