Will there be linux support?
Game looks interesting and I would put it on wishlist, if there is a chance to play it with linux. Are there any infos about this?

Genuinely curious why you'd be using linux for a personal machine...

Even though we love linux, and even use it on our personnal laptops, we do not plan, for now, to officially support linux. As it would add another workload on our small team.

We will think about it again further down the road and inform the community if this will ever change.

Our players tells us that the game runs well on Proton, and we'll do our best efforts to keep it that way.

More so was asking why you would. I honestly don't know much about Linux, but with so many things mainstream out there working on something like a Windows OS, I am curious what value Linux has when there seems to be little support.

Joelle,
It mostly boils down to personal preferences. There are many arguments for and against Linux. In my opinion, most people/new pc-users go for Windows because it is easier to start with and it has the biggest variety of software. It does not require a lot of pre-knowledge to start using a Windows pc and the automated setup with lots of apps etc. make it easier to learn and use.
Myself and many other people prefer Linux for the control it allows us to install only software we want, on our systems. The software we use are mostly free with minimal programs you have to pay for should you become a professional user. There are quite a few versions of Linux that is just as easy to learn and use as Windows. The major complaint/issue with Linux is that many games cannot be played natively out of the box, especially when those games use EAC or DRM protection software.
For the rest, I do not mind tinkering a bit with the command prompts to get my games/software working on Linux as I started using a pc before the appearance of Windows. There is a big Linux helper community whom I can ask for advice when I get stuck with something.( I am not a pro/geek :))
I do occasionally dual boot when I play Windows-only games with friends. In the end it is still a personal preference depending on what you want from your OS.
Sorry about the wall of text :)

Won't even open on Ubuntu, crashes as soon as it opens.

Some people have driver issues with Proton.

You need to make sure you have current Vulkan drivers. There are special launch options to use OpenGL instead, but they kill your performance.

Currently, Ubuntu 20.04 and later have Vulkan drivers for Intel and AMD out of box, but I recommend installing an updated repository on any short of 21.04 or 21.10.

I also recommend not using Ubuntu's default desktop which does some screwy stuff with compositing and defaults to wayland now. This interferes with some games.

Honestly they need to get a way for Wayland to coexist with full X11 instead of the X-Wayland, if wayland is going to be an option for performance desktop, as so many programs are optimized for X11 in ways that don't work in X-Wayland.

Most notably GLX sees performance penalties for certain operations on X-Wayland verses X11, and currently Proton doesn't yet support GLE.

the middle of next month ubuntu is going up a step to 22.04lts. i hope it remains compatible.

I'm running through proton experimental, its the latest and best upgrades Valve bring out for Proton. i haven't played since the prologue so i'm hoping there will be a steady stream of users reporting here or protondb regarding the compatibility.

As a note, I recommend Xubuntu, Kubuntu or Ubuntu Mate Edition if you want something better than Ubuntu's basic desktop. This also gives you more control over compositing, a desktop feature that can kill game performance, and make some games crash. (Windows Vista added Compositing to Windows, to give you an idea.)

I got myself a new graphics card now. Well, what a change :-) It runs from the start smooth now with opensuse leap and has excellent graphic rendering :-)
