I have only played about 3 hours but so far I really do not agree with that critique re: RNG. RNG is simply a part of many games, but I don't think the balance seems off here at all. Making your build and dealing with the enemies that come up (and that you place on the tiles) is a fun puzzle to work out in each run. It is possible in some cases that maybe those criticisms might be misidentifying "bad luck with RNG" with a bad build that they decided to equip or a bad tile-setting strategy, on the other hand you might misidentify "good luck with RNG" with a really nice build that is synthesizing together in a really good way. Or maybe the deck-building and tile-setting strategy was unwise or simply not given proper attention, leading to someone thinking about bad luck. I dunno, now that I'm typing more I think that is a total misunderstanding of how the game works, haha. I think that understanding what you are doing with the deck-building + tile-setting, what the stats mean, and how a smart character/equipment build can work together here is really key to understanding the game.
i played around 10hours for Loop Hero and never felt that way, not even once
there are different strategy you gonna use depending on your cards/gear loots but you always have the full controle over the battlefield
it's like being the game master and the player at the same time
i think those bad review comes from people that give up after 2 fail and straight blame other for their mistake, it's a shame because this game is a masterpiece, no more no less.
where do you get the demo? I saw on the front page of steam that it has a demo but when I click on it I only see an option to purchase!
demo was only available pre release
/edit - demo was gone for a short period after release, but appears to be back on the store now
I've played 10 hours straight yesterday and the game is awesome, just get some knowledge and go with it.
If a player, say, stack 4 skeletons and vampire and end up dying to them, it's still something that could have been avoided by, at worst of worst, using Oblivion on the tile.
Reviews sometime... lol.
