So there's no way to get this on Steam anymore?

*As a one-time purchase I mean. Not interested in the subscription service. I've seen keys for Origin/EA App but I'm guessing no such keys existed for the Steam version. There's the remaster, but for those who are curious about the OG version would there be any way of obtaining it on Steam? Like through an inventory gift? Or is it better to just either sail the high seas or get the remaster instead?

Nope EA Access only on Steam or Origin key.
Would be nice to have for the sake of it but also remaster runs without Origin, has achievements, cloud saves, so yeah, well it doesn't have multiplayer but its shut down anyways unless someone figures out how to revive it.

If you can still find keys for Origin / EA App definitely get that. It's not like you can play Steam version without Origin anyway, you'd just have 2 DRM's. Get the proper version of the game whichever way you can. The remasters are so stupid. The one thing Crysis games are best known for is their killer looks. They came out late 00s/early 10s, but the games look so good you might think they're several years more recent than they actually are. If ever a series did not need a remaster, it's Crysis.

Yet they succeeded in making the games look worse, and in the case of Crysis 1, bizarrely omit some levels from the game. Really pulled a GTA: Definitive Edition on this one. It's always scummy when they take iconic games that needed no enhancement, mess with it, then make the actual games disappear and leave this instead.

You can still buy the original Crysis & its expansion "Crysis: Warhead" on GOG.com, DRM-free. I believe they're $5 on sale for each. And you can get Crysis 2 on Steam still. But yeah, I am not aware if it is still possible to get Crysis 3. Try to track down keys if you still can. Once they're gone, you're out of luck and will probably be forced to get the remastered version.
