Crysis® 3

Crysis® 3

Origin Needs Product Key?
Hey everyone, so when I press play it opens origin and asks for a product key but I can't for the life of me find one. Can anyone help.

I've looked for the CD key icon in steam for Crysis 3 but there is none so i'm assuming I won't be able to find it through steam

I just bought this game too .
This seems like its a pretty common issue,
I'll wait until they fix the problem or the other problem ( ORIGIN ) Before i give this game a whirl.
You would think that after so many years , they would have realised origin is a hoop nobody wants to jump through. That it is literally limiting the amount of copies of this game they sell.

Yeah it really sucks. You would think a "steam" release would remove the need for Origin

Having the same problem. I asked Steam Support about this. Here is their reply:

Hello,

For some games you can find your CD Key by right-clicking on the game in your Library and selecting 'View CD Key'. If this option is not available, also check the column "Links" on the far right of the Steam Client and click on 'CD Key' there.

Please be aware that if you are unable to see your entire key at once, the product column, as well as the window itself, can both be resized. The column can be widened by dragging the black bar next to "Product Code", and the window can be resized by dragging on the bottom right corner where the white dots appear.

If the 'View CD Key' option is not available, you may need to verify the game's files.

But be aware that for most games on Steam no CD key is included.

All purchases made through Steam are registered to your Steam Account.

Games activated through Steam are registered to the Steam account, not the computer on which the game is installed.

As long as you have access to the account on which the game is registered, Crysis® 3 will be available for you to download, install, and play in your Library list regardless of the computer you are logged in on.

Just a follow up.

Hello,

Thank you for that information.

After further investigation it appears that no CD key is included with Steam purchases of Crysis® 3 .

All purchases made through Steam are registered to your Steam Account and you should not be required to enter a CD Key at any point in time while using Crysis® 3 when purchased directly through Steam.

Please make sure that you are launching the game directly through the Steam Library, and try completely signing out of the EA Origin app prior to launching the game. It might also be worth temporarily uninstalling the Origin app and then reinstall the game to ensure nothing is interfering with the installation process.

If you are continuing to see a message indicating that you need a CD Key after trying those steps then I recommend contacting the Game's Support team as they would have more insight on why you might be seeing a prompt for a Key.

I don't have any further information in regards to this issue at this time but if you have any other help requests that we can assist you with, please reply here and we will be happy to help you.

The solution.that worked for me:
1. Uninstall Origin.
2. Start Crysis3 (where you're immediately prompted to reinstall Origin)
3. Reinstall Origin
