The RX 5700XT beats its Nvidia competitors (RTX 2060, RTX 2060 Super and RTX 2070) in performance at the price point I was willing to spend on a GPU.
I've yet to notice any scams or spam with Windows 10 nor do I find it unintuitive so I'll stick with it thank you very much.
Just want to flag an issue with this game for users thinking of buying the game.
There are 2 config files "autoexec.cfg" and 'system.cfg'
Crysis 3 has lots of settings that can be customized through config files, and doing so would greatly improve your performance without much loss in visual image.
Think about what the settings you change actually do.
Turns out it is a Windows 10 issue. I installed Windows 8.1 on a spare SSD and installed Crysis 3 on it. Playing it and I noticed the frame rate was a little better but the main thing was the massive frame rate drops down to the teens where no longer happening. In a location when frame rate was tanking to 18FPS it was now dropping to 50FPS, a much better performance.
You are right about MSAA been two demanding for my hardware. I switched to 4XSMAA and the performance was much better. I should be able to max the game out and for the most part keep above the minimum Free Sync windows of 45FPS and most of the time be well north of 60FPS.
Having looked at the Crysis 3 AA image comparison and performance comparison over at tweak guides, I think I will set it to 2TX as you have done as it does seem to have quite a lower hit to performance than 4XSMAA.
I'm aware that 8XMSAA is very demanding. I got away with in Crysis and Crysis Warhead and considering Crysis 3 is 7 years old and alot better optimized to Crysis or Crysis Warhead are I though I might get away with it again.
However its not the cause of the massive frame rate drops to FPS as I was getting those with no AA enabled at all. Its a known issue as the video below demonstrates, not my video but same specs and I get the issue in the exact same location.

Well you can't expect frame rate drops in the same location regardless of OS, just no where near as severe as they are on Windows 10.
That's not my video, its just a person with the same specs as me having the same issue, though he's running at 21:9 resolution of 2560x1080 compared to my 16:9 2560x1440.
Windows 7 Adrenalin 2020 drivers do not work on Windows 8.1 so I used the last Adrenalin 2019 drivers I could find 19.11.3
