LIRR: Hempsted to Penn Station: Red signal never changes?

I wonder if I am missing something in this scenario. Starting from Hempsted, there is a single track that goes to the main line. There is a yellow, then red signal for me. Looking ahead at the line map, at Country Press station, there is a train at that station. I would expect a red signal for me then. Are both my train and the next train headed West to Penn Station? If the train ahead is headed my way, then my train is blocking the track and neither of us can move if I am at the red signal.

From the sub my train and the train ahead are on, to the main route, there is a red signal at the junction to the main route. There is not any traffic evident on the main line.

Ok. The weather is depicted as snow and blowing precipitation. A delay can be expected. Has anyone waited longer than 15 minutes for a green signal to proceed?

It would be much more helpful if you could give more info as the image shows there are plenty of timetable scenarios, and I have not run many routes in TSW2
