Again, up to you. The route enhancement packs are very good as are some of the sound mods. I also enjoy the mods that substitute stock in the timetable mode.

It can happen. Personally I've not had any such issues, but the mods are easily removed if they're causing trouble.
"Scenarios" section?
You also should be aware that mods may interfere, if you install different mods for the same route one may deactivate the other one. So mods are awesome, but be modest and do not think to install them all. In some cases DTG will fix the issue for which a mod is intended. In that case you can better uninstall the mod.
