How BR423 LZB suppose to work?
I couldn't find any detailed manual for BR423 additional functions

I assumed that when activated and in zone (with U on dash) it would control speed of train, but so far I haven't seen it do anything...
Does PZB have to be enabled also for it to work?

The Munich S-Bahn uses LZB mainly for a higher throughput of trains on their S-Bahn mainline. With LZB you can have multiple blocks within a single train station (which is present in the Munich-Augsburg route, you can see the LZB block section markers in the S-Bahn stations between Hackerbrücke and Laim), so one train can leave the platform, while another train enters the platform at the same time. LZB is a security system, AFB is more of a convenience system and therefore allows the driver under certain circumstances to let the system control the train.
