Linux / Steam Deck support
Will the devs be supporting either Linux and/or Steam Deck in the final release?

The game, like most Steam games, will be playable on the Steam deck. However, we cannot guarantee full "Verified" status at this time.

This sound like no native Linux support is planned. If it does run via Wine/Proton out of the box and without tinkering, then that is good. But a native Linux version would be always the better option.

The native Linux support was the reason I became aware of Hard West in the first place, back then. Just sayin' ;)

BTW the Hard West 2 Playtest does not run out of the box with current stable Proton 7.0-2. The cutscenes (like the posse introduction or the card game against Mammon) aren't be shown properly (a codec issue? it does work with Proton GE 6.21).

lt;dr Please consider a native Linux version, if possible. <3

На ArtixLinux c Proton 7.0.3 криво отрисовывается видео в игре

Чтобы заставки отображались корректно в Proton 7.0-3 и GE-Proton7-20 требуется прописать в параметры запуска WINE_DO_NOT_CREATE_DXGI_DEVICE_MANAGER=1 (Set to 1 to enable. Required for video playback in some games to not be miscolored (usually tinted pink) Описание параметра взято с https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom

Исправляется добавлением WINE_DO_NOT_CREATE_DXGI_DEVICE_MANAGER=1 в параметры запуска игры

I second this request. The game should work fine with Proton if you switch to a Linux-supported codec for the videos.

On Steam Deck the text is very tiny, so text and UI scaling would be greatly appreciated.

As of today, the game works on steamdeck without any fiddling
