That's a really weird way of saying that it's just easier to use Epic's built-in crossplay system that is free for developers.
If Steam did that, more devs would probably just go that route, just like all the games you see using Remote Play Together. But they don't.
I'm not quite sure how you managed to take my words as meaning its easier to use Epic's crossplay. I was giving the OP an overly descriptive yes/no answer to the question.
Eh, you and the OP both seem to have vague "queerbox loves epic's epeen" sentiments, so I explained that there is a reason that dev teams use Epic's crossplay feature.
Because it's free and it's already built. And Steam doesn't have an equivalent that they offer developers.
If they did, more devs would use it.
Some crossplay is generally seen as better than no crossplay, so we got what we got.
Dumbest thing I've heard in a very long time. The monthly active user base is 56 million, mostly thanks to their free game giveaways.
I don't want to play with Epic users either. https://www.reddit.com/r/♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥/comments/14hx2tr/someone_made_a_mod_for_payday_2_thats_auto_kicks/
Which consumers are you represent? The whole gaming community or just steam fanboys?
