Hardcore Help
I’ve been trying to get the savior from hardcore veteran solo, but I’ve really been struggling. I’ve had 2 runs and then died at by the world boss on the first world. I’ve picked engineer for both. Does anyone have any builds, or strategies? Or does anyone want to try to beat hardcore with me

Try Medic/Eng, Tank build. You "Spam" relics (Crystal Heart (?) with the 25% DR buff) and should be nearly unkillable on this difficult.

I kept starting over with Engi and checked Cass' shop for the Twisted Pendant. It helps a lot with the lower weight and added armor value. Of course that was before they changed DR values so it could be a little different now. I had the best luck with Engi as main and medic as second. It's really just about learning boss patterns and having a decent build.

Interesting thing to note: If you are in multiplayer co-op hardcore, even if you 'die' as long as one party member is alive, you can still be resurrected at a stone. Almost a mandatory thing for bosses with cheese instant kill mechanics like the cubes or Dreamweaver.

Do you have an particular stategies for even obtaining this build? I don’t know if I’m just bad, but playing solo hardcore feels nearly impossible. I don’t know if I need to stay and grind before trying world boss or moving on, but I cannot get past the first random world on HC without dying

I personally like the Challenger/Medic combo for cheat death, very tanky, and lots of healing, and good damage, But the real strat you want to do if you're going for HC Vet is do some easy mode adventures for gear. Think of a build and what rings you want to use and just roll the zone on the lowest difficulty and go clear it (or as much as you need to clear for the drops) for the stuff you need and once you're ready to go start the Vet HC run.

Also, you might want to practice the world bosses on a non HC character if you're struggling with any particular boss before committing to a HC run.

And lastly, if you haven't already clear Apoc difficulty on a non HC character for the Worlds Edge greatsword. It's incredibly powerful and helped me a LOT with my HC run. Clearing Apoc is also very good practice for a HC run just because it forces you to really learn the bosses.

Thanks for these tips. I will definitely try that. I’m very hesitant to grind on an HC character because it feels like I lose so much more if I die, but I will definitely try to beat apoc and then follow your advice.

NEVER grind on a hardcore character. Not worth the loss. The most you might do is load an adventure world to grab a few trait books but never go for a specific build just put together what you can. Less time wasted if you die.

Hardcore is all about making the best of a bad situation.

You don't need to grind grind. You can get a ton of good stuff on a simple nerub run. It has a ton of good rings. And on easy mode you can clear that place in an hour easy. Also, if you do a campaign on easy and clear up to the labyrinth you can get the enigma, which is amazing for aoe clears even post nerf.

And if you haven't beat Apoc yet, do that first. It will make your Vet HC much easier with both the skills you've learned and the Worlds Edge you unlock.

It's makes the Vet HC run WAY easier if you get a few rings first, saying never is just wrong. I did it and cleared it with ease. But the choice is a personal choice, you don't have to follow my advise, it's simply my opinion, and the strat I used for my clear.
