Report a translation problem
The issue is that a good chunk of traits are just better than others, making the current state of the trait system's cap almost moot. The devs are reworking the traits and adding more (even before the DLC supposedly), so the trait cap will be adjusted after the rework occurs.
They are focusing on QoL, bug fixes, and performance before diving in on the bigger overhauls.
Either the benefits of core traits need to go up or they need to be part of the leveling process. That will fix a lot of the game's problems. As it is, 65 isn't enough, they should just default to 100 and be done with it.
But why? What would 100 give?
Two full level traits from archetypes, plus 5 points allocated to the core traits based on your primary archetype, and then 65 you can distribute yourself. 20 + 5 + 65
Yes so 65 is the cap. As has been stated.
It's like health vs. effective health. You could have a health of 120, but due to your DR you could easily have an effective health of 500+.
