And the sniper is pretty handy against bosses that don't show their weakspot too often. (sold by brabus as well)
But I'm the kind of guy who enjoys "slow but strong hits".
You can buy the AR for 1000 scrap and it's the most balanced and reliable long gun. I used it the entire game, and no other gun performs so well around the clock.
That's a hidden weapon, it's lame people talk about the game's hidden weapons as if they were super easy to find and should obey the same standards as other weapons. Although I personally think it's a bad weapon because it has bad aim in the first seconds you start shooting, so forget about moving around and shooting in bursts.
work around long reload times with a mod that refills your magazine on use
Perhaps the best thing about the AR, like the assault rifle in the first game, is the stagger damage, it's nothing like a real gun, but it's enough to give you breathing space against many enemies.
It's so strange so many weapons have no stagger at all, and enemies just stand there as if nothing happened.
If not one of the automatic weapons might be better.
Huntsmen, Bulldog, AR, or even the Bonesaw are all good choices.
