Make sure you're listening for the ping sound when they're about to swing their sword in the 2nd phase, the massive sword swings are insanely easy to dodge on the dragon phase.
It's basically the only thing stopping me from attempting a hardcore run...
Second phase is much easier than people think; the "visual pollution" has little to no meaning. You can stand still for the majority of the second phase, as the only real threatening attacks are from the boss. The tentacles always indicate whether they'll attack vertically or horizontally, and the AoE explosions have a small radius and are equally segmented(think chessboard spacing). The orbs it spawns only need to be shot down(or can be perfect dodged), while the charge beam has a clear tell of what it will do.
Now for the last 50% HP, when it starts switching between forms, you only need to memorize the last attack it did when it switches, and you can easily avoid all the attacks.
Most of Annihilation's fight just requires listening and reacting to the sound queues with a neutral dodge.
