Infernum mod bug?

Is it normal not to have any chests in the abyss or is it a bug in the Infernum mod?

Infernum removes all the chests and adds different ways to get the items that are normally in them.

and how do I get them? This is my first time playing Infernum and normally after the golem I go look for these chests in the abyss.

Some are now craftable, the Lionfish drops from an actual Lionfish enemy, the Herring staff is from catching a Herring critter in a bugnet, the Iron Boots are from breaking a skeleton with white eyes found somewhere near the top of the Abyss the Strange Orb is also placed somewhere (the pet is actually swimming around it so it's easier to see)
