Help with infernum/wrath of the gods lag

I was playing some calamity when i decided to install infernum mode and wrath of the gods but when i did the game started lagging extremely. I need help on how to fix this.

Extra info:
Mods installed are just calamity infernum wrath of the gods and the usual QOL mods (Ex: magic storage, alchemist, boss log etc)
Everything was working fine until infernum/wrath of the gods got installed
I am playing on a gaming laptop but it is strong enough to run elden ring at good framerate


(also is it a bad idea to jump straight into infernum on my first calamity playthrough. I am up to WoF in revengeance and i thought everything before was pretty easy)

BTw the game completely stops lagging when i pause

idk exactly what it is but if you havent found anything that works try windowed mode

I tried to reduce particles and it reduced the lag quite a bit

Some more information: I haven’t fought a single boss yet, I just spawn in and walk around my base and lag is really bad. I won’t be able to just ignore it or else I won’t be able to make it past any boss

Btw it's wrath of gods problem. Im playing with same mods and when wrath of gods is truned on I have 12-30 fps, BUT when i decided to turn it off i got 60 fps.

Its not, currently have literally 0 lag/smoothness issues in end game. Wotg is fine and beautiful (pretty much same mod list as author).

Before that I tried wotg + Infernum stopped after 5 min for the reasons mentioned above, 60fps but giving me eye cancer (not smooth).

Also some cool mods like boss/recipe lists are lagging AF when stacking heavy mods. I stopped using them.
