default terraria runs perfect, but tmod loader can barely get 30 fps. please help.

i used to play calamity and it ran fine about a year ago, but loading it up today it runs like trash. i have a decent setup to run this game: rx6600xt gpu and a ryzen 7 5700g. i tried disabling all mods, uninstalling and reinstalling the game and i still cant fix this issue. does anyone have a solution or have this same issue?
