Tmodloader lag on good laptop

For some reason, my dedicated GPU works at around 20%, which results in lag during some of the bossfights (the providence, scal, exo mechs). Also during lag GPU usage may drop up to 5%.
I've tried many ways to fix the problem, like forcing tmodloader to use dedicated gpu via nvidia control panel, switching frame skip, changing priority, turning CPU0 off in task manager, adding /gldevice:Vulkan or /gldevice:OpenGL in properties and changing the default stack size. Nothing helped.

I'm not shocked, mods cause lag unrelated to hardware.
Remove the expansion mods and\or new mechanic mods and you get ur fps back.

didn't helped, I had like nitrate and high fps mod installed

It will just use less resources, the bottleneck thing will still remain

EXACT same problem. Tried literally everything, including what you listed as attempts. it just insists in using integrated graphics no matter what I do, and I get like 20 fps on water biomes and absolutely 0 in bosses, especially, ESPECIALLY the Exo Mechs and Thanatos.
And I have 4060, i7 13650hx. I am pretty much hopeless and considering quitting for good just because of this problem.

I figured out what's the problem (On my laptop). The problem is that terraria is a single threaded app, which means it uses only one CPU core to process. It's a simple bottleneck, so if you want to reduce lag just use fewer mods in your playthroughs, or upgrade your CPU to a better one if you're on PC.

I'm having a similar problem and I dunno why. I use the same amount of mods and alot of the same mods you have. My Game months back would run perfectly fine with these mods, But more recently, my game is being more sluggish. When I fight Inferium Aquatic Scourge for example. My game drops to 30 fps under

It's really annoying and I don't know why it's happening

I have a 3070ti, Intel 14900KF. And 32gb DDR5. My game shouldn't be running like this

And what's more of a slap in my face is my lil brother on his computer with alot of the same mods I have and similar computer specs, is running the game smoothly with no problems.

ik its been a while but it may help other people. Calamity wrath of the gods aka "noxusboss"
is the problem. for me at least. remove it and the game will run buttery smooth. i went from like 20 fps lowest and avg. 30-40 to lowest 50 and avg 60. i hope this will help other people.

i can confirm this is the exact thing that made me go from 40 fps in crowded areas like my base, dungeons and during boss fights to a stable 60

Its probably due to mixing thoruim with so many calamity things

Infernum and wrath of gods are a little unstable(and your combining them with thorium)
