Menu "tickspeed" is super high?

For whatever reason I loaded up tModloader and the first thing i saw was the background of the main menu zooming past like 10 times faster than normal. A similar thing happened with any loading menus, but it did not affect the Mod Browser menu. Normally, something like this wouldn't be a problem but it also affects things in-game, like sped up animations for certain items and the crafting menu goes waaaay too fast. Anyone know how to fix this?

oh, that happens when your fps are too high, the menu background is a animation meaning that its speed scales with your fps

turning on frame skip in settings->video helped me.
im a bit too late but if anyone else face that problem i hope that's gonna help them

i face the same problem, even ingame im too fast. Frame skip did nothing

yes problem was with disabled frame skip, enabled and fixed
