When is it fair to spawn in life crystals?

I've been spawning in Life Crystals to aid myself in the early game, but after spawning 4 to help me beat Trojan Squirrel in a Masochist Mode playthrough, I feel a bit conflicted.

For context, the boss has been curb-stomping me for a day now, and for that same day I have only found 1 life crystal legitimately. I know I could easily beat it at 400 HP from past experiences, but I only spawned in enough to get to 200 HP so it would still present a significant challenge.

Am I a cheater?

I only gave up and spawned life crystals because I did mine. A lot. And I only found one. In fact, for the first few hours I thought there was a worldgen bug and my world generated without life crystals.

So just telling me to get off my butt and go mine is not a good way to say that there is no fair time to spawn them. If you don't think it's ever not cheating, then just say that, no need to be rude.

you are a cheater, but honestly it's just life crystals so it aint that bad or big of a cheat
if you want to find them legit, the jungle usually has alot if you're willing to go down there

There's a reason I have avoided the underground jungle, it's because I'd rather not have hornets swarming through the walls (yes, in Fargo's they can do that) and chasing me to death if I don't no hit it. The damage to my mental health would not be worth being able to tank more damage in-game.

Also, i never even noticed that life crystals spawn more in the jungle since by the time I'm ready to explore it, I usually have full LC max HP.

After a day of searching I found a Cloud in a Bottle and a Life Crystal right underneath a mineshaft I made. I could've had 140 life so long ago X_X

Also did explore the Jungle and got a couple more LCs so now at 280 life.
