Calamity - cant consume Celestial Onion

I just beat Moon Lord in Expert Mode World, Revengeance Calamity, and cant seem to consume the Celestial Onion for the 7th accesory slot, need any help!

because it probably has to do with this thing called master mode which if you read the tool tip is worthless on master mode

Thing is, they arent playing on mastermode, its expert revengeance according to OP. Yes, i know revengeance does add master mode drops and is effectively a step above master mode difficulty wise just with less stat bloat, but its still not master mode.
Encountered the same issue and switching out of revengeance does not allow the celestial onion to be consumed either.
Ultimately its not too crippling, just a good chunk of possible power one misses out. Annoying, but not gamebreaking
