can't interact with inventory or any items for that matter

I have no idea why this is happening but suddenly I cannot click on any item in my inventory or in any chest or container, and hovering over them does not show their item description. my hotbar is not locked, and this literally happened to me while I was in-game. I have no idea how to fix this so any information would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: I have a few interesting bits of information. Firstly, I also cannot interact with the crafting menu. Secondly, right clicking items to auto-equip them does work. Also, attempting to click on items or even blank inventory slots causes my game to lag for a brief moment. I can scroll through my hotbar and use the items in it. Most importantly, this seems to only be an issue with the character I am currently using, all of the others work just fine. Still I'd like to resolve this issue as I have made a lot of progress with this character in particular.

Go one by one disabling mods and check if any of them being disabled cause it to be fixed, if it doesn't, at that point do a fresh install of your mods or a fresh install of tmodloader itself. Perhaps take backup pictures incase you lose items or characters via checking.

sounds like one of the mods (or a combination) is causing a silent exception, one thing goes out of bounds and that causes a crash that causes other things to break

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\tModLoader\tModLoader-Logs
has logs that can show silent exceptions, if you encounter if again go to client.txt
