I can't talk to any NPC's?

I looked at my mods with NPC in the name via the search, and all of those just add new npc's.
I'm on a trackpad. I've had this laptop for about a year now. I do have an issue where in most games, if I right click and hold it, the hold automatically stops after a second and it left clicks on me. This does make some games unplayable, which is why I tend to bind other keys instead. As an example, In Minecraft when placing a line of blocks, I normally bind r-click to the left alt key, so I can hit it with my thumb.
I think I've had this issue on other previous laptops, including my first few, which were Macs.


When I r-click to interact with npc's nothing happens, but when I next hit esc, I hear the close menus sound.


I'm gonna double check my mods list and see if I missed anything npc related.
Edit: the only one I have that might fit is a Dialog box mod, but I've had that when I've played before, and didn't have issues?
