Wondering about the efficacy of Mage hybrid builds in Calamity

I haven’t played through Calamity in like a year and I just started it once again with a friend, and regarding classes, I know I want to play mage, but I don’t know if trying to combine mage and rouge would be particularly effective. Anyone else with more experience have advice?

probably not. you need a full set of rogue armor to get a stealth bar and rogue also has unique accessories just for its class that youve gotta equip to utilize your stealth so you'd end up having to switch loadout whenever you wanted to use something other than rogue damage. There's also stuff like summons being nerfed when not holding a summoner weapon and old one's army multiclassing armor being nerfed (when you arent wearing a complete set anyways)
