[calamity] giant clam has 9999 defence consistantly?

i know when the giant clam open its mouth its defence goes to normal but for some reason its defence stays at 9999 when its mouth is open only taking 1 dmg. same with clams. i have tried armour piercing accessories and weapons and i had to cheat to kill the clam. im also playing rogue. should i try disabling mods or restart a world cuz i cheated?

extra note. i do have some content mods. like thorium and creature libre because i like the more mobs it adds
