tModLoader friend crashes when joining me

we're playing on 1.4, and everyone else is able to join except for him, he crashes without error.

the only big mods we're using are fargo's souls, thorium, fargo's mutants, stars above and calamity. the other mods are all small mods, anyone know why this is happening?

maybe he has a client mod active that only works if everyone has it, we had that problem with the client mod.

why would a client sided mod be the issue? the only client sided one we have is lights and shadows, dont see why this can be a problme.

I love how you wanna ask for help then argue with the only person who gives you a lead based off of his personal experience with troubleshooting this kind of issue. Cause you know so much right? You don't have to understand why, either try it or don't.

ask him to send u the mod list to check if there a client side mode he has active or not, thats probably the problem.

maybe because i was the only one with lights and shadows on, and my other friend could join just fine.

I think the problem is Calamity. I have the same problem, my friend is on Mac and his game crashes when he tries to join me. I’ve seen other posts like this and all of them are with calamity.
