Transfering worlds from terraria into tmodloader (mac)

I have been playing terraria for a while now and i love the idea of being able to copy my world from terraria to tmodloader and being able to use mods on my og worlds without having to recreate new ones, and of course i've done my research and there only seems to be tutorials on how to do this for microsoft computers.

I've found out how to find all of my worlds both in terraria and tmodloader using Command + Shift + G and ~/Users/(user)/Library/Application Support/Steam/userdata/105600/remote
but when i copy my world file into the tmodloader world folder and i open up tmodloader my world isn't there. Could anyone shed some light on why this is happening and or what i could do to try and fix this problem?

Let's start with the fact that if you want to transfer a world from terraria 1.4.4.9 to tML 1.4.3.6 they will not work. The exception is the preview branch, there already 1.4.4.9.
Looking at the folder you specified, are you using cloud saves? Many consider it unsafe, but that's not the point. Migrated worlds in this way really will not count either in tML or in the Сloud. Better transfer to a local folder, by default it should be ~/Library/Application support/Terraria/tModLoader/Worlds/
