Single session lost despite quitting properly

I lost around 4 hours of progress in Calamity terraria, maybe more, during which I explored the lizhard temple and did a number of other long term things. Does anyone know why this happened and if there's any way to fix it? The save file is timed correctly but the progress is just not there

my friend and i had the same thing happen to us, and we assume its because of the update from earlier today. we had started a run, got quite a bit accomplished, and then after work we logged in to seeing both the characters and the world not there, and a previous run's characters that were deleted getting restored

I think it's because of cloud. A day ago I threw the character into the cloud, and then he disappeared

I had the same issue, I was playing Calamity with my sister and then my game froze and then crashed. I lost about 3 hours progress :(
