Do you have any advice before going into the Calamity Abyss

I just defeated skeletron and planning to go into the abyss is there anything i should bring or really just any advice?

gills potion , victide armor, shadow key

this will make it easy to explore the low layer abyss

you can also go on the hunt for all the labs and get the diving gear or any other accessories that help with water

and for convinence get all the abyss acessories for the abyss diving gear for way later in your run if you come across them

Build a house for the NPC "Sea King", add a bed to save your respawn. Use gills and flipper potiion and ask him for "Help" which gives you the Amidias' Blessing buff. The buff stays on until you take a hit, so you'll have the potion as a backup just in case.

Just some more advice, i'm pretty sure the sulphurous armor is better to use if you're rogue or multiclass, i think it's similar to victide armor but also makes the sulfurous sea kill you slower.

The weapons from the abyss (Tier 1) can be found in chest, im not sure if needed shadow key, because i found new chests wich don't need and provide the same items.

There is atleast 1 weapon for each class, which help a lot with the flesh of walls and god slime, plus u may want to collect the pieces for the future abyssal set to explore more the abyss in future.

you don't need the shadow key for the post skeletron chests anymore, they unlock after skeletron dies.
