(Calamity) I'm stuck, and I don't know how to progress!

Well, I do know how to progress, but I clearly lack the skill to do so. I am straight up getting my a** handed to me. I am post-Golem/pre-Lunatic Cultist but I feel so freaking weak right now. I'm playing as a summoner and this is my loadout:

Armor
- Spooky Armor
- Spooky Wings

Weapons
- Legendary Morning Star/Legendary Durendal
- Plantation Staff
- Dormant Brimseeker
- Cryogenic Staff
- Wither Blossoms Staff

Accessories
- Menacing Stasis Blessing
- Menacing The First Shadowflame
- Menacing Jelly-Charged Battery
- Menacing Angel Threads
- Menacing Asgard's Valor

Right now I feel stuck at a brick wall. I can easily get Duke Fishron to his final phase than that SOB starts teleporting and I can't dodge it to save my life. I tried the teleporting cheese but again that final phase doesn't careless about it and wrecks me. I've tried just making a big arena and same thing- I get him to final phase and BOOM I'm dead. I can dodge the bubbles, sharknados, and everything up to that point with ease but that dang teleport at the end is freaking brutal.

I tried Astrum Aureus. Yeah not happening Chief.

I tried Ravager. Haha clearly not ready.

I haven't tried Leviathan & Anahita but I'm guessing it will be the same story.

So, is it my loadout? Do I just suck? Should I switch to another class? All the videos I've watched showcase people using gear that was nerfed into the ground (i.e. mounted scanner) or people that just are clearly better than me. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

And yes, as Dark Souls player, the obligatory "git gud" is an obvious.

hey dude could you send a small vid of you trying to kill fishron i think adding a dash into your set would be very beneficial you should make sure you are using all buffs and flasks and a bewitching table you could chesse it with nurse but that is up to you u should proly reforge you weapons for modifiers and you could try and get warding on your accessories as that will help with defence as a lot of a summoner is just staying alive

I have no idea how to add a video. Not very tech savvy on that front I'm afraid. I'm not sure how I could use the nurse either since Duke does not give me any room to breathe. I do use the holy dash from Asgard's Valor accessory, and while that does help it doesn't feel like it's enough on the final phase.

I will try changing everything to warding though as you suggest. Just feel like I'm trading killing him faster vs fight lasting longer but I lose a tiny bit less health though in that regard.

What are the suggested summons for this fight? I don't even know why I'm fighting him honestly. I guess because it's the only boss I have access to that I am confident I could beat, minus lunatic cultist which is a breeze, but I don't think I want lunar pillars at this point. :/

sorry for the late response i highly suggest the terraprisim for the Empress of Light i dont play a lot of summoner so i dont have that many recommendations for calamity weapons
you could also make an asphalt road to have a bit more speed if dashes aren't doing enough

Hey man terraprisma is the way to go and in calamity pretty sure you get it from the treasure bag, you dont gotta do daytime empress

I am playing in Expert, yes. I turn on/off Revengance as I see necessary. World is in Expert though.

Update: So good news, it really did come down to "Git Gud". I have not only beat Duke Fishron, but every boss leading up to Lunatic Cultist. For some reason, after beating Fishron every boss after that felt like a breeze. Also butterflies are awesome.

So, a helpful tip for future reference, i'm not seeing a Star-Tainted Generator which is a direct 3-in-1 upgrade to the Jelly-charged Battery, nuclear rod and Starbuster core. You get it by combining these three items with 3 life alloy.

Also, i'm not seeing a papyrus scab (which is a direct upgrade to papyrus scab and stacks with papyrus scab) meaning you're loosing out on a lot of minion slots right there. It details all recommended equipment for certain points in the game for all classes.

Change your equipments to warding. You probably need more survivability. Could always sacrifice one slot for The Comunity depending on the boss.

All great advice and I will definitely make many of these changes. I used the Papyrus Scarab to make the Stasis Blessing, didn't think it would stack btw.

I have been trying to farm for a nuclear rod, but not having any real luck. I should mention that my wife and I play together so I am also juggling trying to help her set her stuff up too. Not only is this her first time playing Calamity, it's her first time playing Terraria! I'll probably get flak for that at some point. lol

Also, while I've beaten Astrum Aureus. I think it was a fluke because we went back to fight him last night and got our asses handed to us. I have no idea what we did the first time that worked but we clearly didn't pull it off the second time. When he flies up in the air and hovers over you I cannot for the life of me get out of the way. Flying. Dodging. Jumping. Running. None of it seems to matter. I don't know if he despawns if I go to high or too far out of a biome so I've sort of made sure I just stay in the area as best as possible. Probably doesn't help that we haven't made an arena for him either.

Anyways, I will continue listening to your guys feedback AND YES I am scouring the wikis and watching countless videos. I still like hearing direct feedback from people. Especially helps since half the stuff I come across online is outdated. Sad, really wanted to try OG mounted scanner. :(

Update: I obtained Nuclear Rod. Made the upgrade, as well as equipped the Papyrus Scarab. Also have the Stasis Curse as well. Switched to Plague Armor which comes with a nifty dash so I could replace Asgard's Valor. Decided to go with Heart of the Elements. Going to attempt Empress of Light tonight and get either Terraprism or her whip.
