Tmodloader error(s)
ok so to explain, last night i decided "you know, i haven't played terraria in a hot minute, i kinda want to play some terraria". so i open up tmodloader and i immediately get hit with a crash error saying that i'm missing House_banner_0, so i look on the terraria forums and someone replied to the same issue with files to fix that. so i placed the missing .xna files that were included (yay) however now the game loads fine in the main menu BUT when i go to singleplayer or host multiplayer now i'm being hit with the same crash error but this time it's Female_body_54 not being found.

overall i have no clue as to why all of a sudden tmodloader is missing all these files. i tried reinstalling, verifying files, hell i even opened up regular terriara and regular terraria works fine but tmodloader doesn't. i even look to see if it was any specific mods while in the crash reports and no it's 100% not a mod issue, instead it seems to be a main game file issue where things just magically disappeared, (that or tmodloader updates really F'd something).

So any help would be appreciated.

Hello, it would be really appreciated if you shared the full error message to know what is going on.

https://gyazo.com/579ec139a182fb61bf6aaf0ca0d7cfaa here's an example of the error, chances are i have so many missing xna files that i most likely don't know about. i also don't know how these xna files magically disappear but they sure have vanished while other xna files remain.

You say you haven't played terraria in a hot minute. And the path that is missing is actually not tModLoader path. It is Terraria path. TModLoader depends on terraria assets. Idk how much the framework itself is to do with it. What you can try is:

Download/Update terraria, verify the files integrity, launch the vanilla terraria before trying to launch tmodloader.
Download/update your XNA framework, though it doesn't seem like the problem is the framework itself (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20914)
if this error keeps appearing i suggest checking the path the file is missing and verifying IF file is ACTUALLY MISSING

well that's the funny thing i've tried it all, verified files (says all systems green), reinstalled several times (does nothing), framework is already up to date. not only that but it's only tmodloader that gives me the error but if i run terraria itself unmodded it works perfectly fine. when i do check the files yes they are 100% not there. when i kept getting the same error for the missing file House_banner_0 someone in the terraria forums provided the files for it and that worked however thats where i get the missing file error i'm having issues with now.

Hm, I see. I suggest you try to bring it up on the official tmodloader discord (https://tmodloader.net/discord). They have more people in there so you'll probably get help faster

All i can suggest is trying the beta 1.4 version from game settings ->beta, or installing the game from their github repository (https://github.com/tModLoader/tModLoader). They might not be efficient as what you miss is terraria files

Other ways may include different versions of wiping certain game files, but i don't know much about it, better check the tmodloader discord for solutions, they have a nice spreadsheet and also a forum-like channel for the support

Also you CAN try installing some resource pack like calamity resource pack but idk if it would fix the issue really

Edit1: ohwait, I'm dumb you can't install it cause game crashes on load =.=
