Celestial Onion not working?

I used the celestial onion that drops from moonlord and got my 6th accessory slot, however i cant put any accessories in it, why is that? I can put items in the social accessory slot, but not the normal slot that provides the buffs.

from the wiki;
If the player does not have a sixth accessory slot yet, the Celestial Onion can be used, and it will grant the sixth accessory slot. If in Expert Mode, the seventh slot will not be granted until the player also consumes the Demon Heart.
It does nothing in Master Mode, or if a seventh accessory slot (or more) has already been obtained through the use of other mods.

my world is in classic and i got the sixth slot, just when i try to put an accessory
in it, it doesnt go in the slot.,
