not gonna lie you arent wrong, i really do think they made it the hardest out of all of the mechs.

i forgot to say this was in both death mode and master mode, while i am playing summoner.

It kind of already was significantly harder than the rest in 1.3 vanilla, but I believe both calamity and 1.4 buff destroyer making them even more unbalanced.

use hellfire arrows and stormbow to kill destroyer (just never stop running away and you should be ok), to make it easier make sure you have full life fruit and fairy wings so you dont die instantly, also warding reforge helps with the probe and laser spam

Getting some good flight time made it not too bad for me, being able to fly above it and dash out of its charges is helpful
