"lost connection" after "syncing mods"

i tried to join my friend in a world that we have been playing in, but for some reason it just sits on "syncing mods" for a few minutes and then "lost connection" i have tried verifying game integrity of both tmod and terraria, i reinstalled both tmod and terraria, i restarted my computer, nothing is fixing this, any ideas?

It is possible that some mod you guys are using is not multiplayer compatible, or is buggy if it thinks it is.

one of my other friends are able to join and play with no difficulties, it just seems to be me having this problem

Are they or you using experimental tModLoader (1.3 or 1.4)? The game needs to match.

we are all using the same tmodloader version , and all the mods are the same version

legit searched through hell to find a fix and still couldn't find it

may be a bit late for this but my friend just change their character mode from journey to classic and it worked so
maybe that is the solution
