Good Mid-Game Ranged Weapons in Calamity?

Beat the WoF a while ago, but have made pretty much 0 progress in hardmode since. I just keep getting my ass kicked and have no clue what to do, cause I just can't seem to find anything. I'm using aerospec armor right now (desperately looking for a good upgrade, cause this ain't cutting it), armed with the Needler as my primary weapon. Are there any better ranged weapons than this, cause the Needler is decent but the bullet drop makes it utter hell to use. Also have a shadowflame bow but I don't know if that's any good.

a good armour set to get would be frost or titanium, some good weapons would be the titanium railgun, mineral mortar, daedulas stormbow and/or the arbalest

I've been farming dark mummies for a decent amount of time, haven't been able to get any dark shards, hopefully I actually can get the damn onyx blaster. World spawned with Adamantium though, can't get titanium. Might be able to get frost, but can't seem to find any adamantium (made the mistake of making a large world).
