is online active?
Is it worth buying this game for the end game online? Or do you enjoy the offline experience more?

I found yesterday one active player :)
It is possible (albeit rare) to encounter a human in the internet. A shiny, golden ticket may attract them more than usual.
AI-companions are good enough for "casual" raids, but when planning to take down high-end deviants or elder dragons some extra firepower might come in handy.

If you want to do co-op content, you're better off looking to find someone here in the forums.

I was doing random co-op dens with the NPC/AI companion the other day and had someone randomly join me for a HR water den. After that I saw there were a few lobbies open looking for more players. This was in the middle of the day and typically when I play in the evening or early morning, I never see co-op lobbies open or have people drop into mine.

If you really get into the post-game content, you'll want to do multiplayer dens to get the better monsties and their genes. It just makes farming to make your "ultimate team" so much more efficient because of the increased drop rates. This content is reasonably soloable with the NPC/AI companion. You might need to prep and think about your strat b4 hand though.

All co-op content is possible to do with the NPC companion/AI. Even the absolute most challenging fight in the game which is a is co-op quest, has been soloed. You'll need some niche/cheese strategies to do it, but there's plenty of videos of people soloing it.

turn based combat sucks for randoms online. they go to the store shopping while you're waiting for them to take their turn.

there is a 1 min timer per turn so it doesnt really matter compared to other online turn-based games
