Never played league before, worth it?

I'm not good at such games, but I like stories very much. Never played any of Riot games before. Is it good in terms of plot, cinematics, characters? Or should I just pass by?

the story is the main course for this game (especially for fans of ahri, yasuo, pyke, braum, illaoi and miss fortune). gameplay is only fun for fans of jrpg turn based games. its not very grindy or too hard even at the hardest difficulty. you'll probably enjoy the game more for the story and the characters rather than the gameplay.

No, the gameplay is boring and extremely slow-paced for a turn-based game released in the 2020s (I love turn-based games but they're becoming really stale and most of them still play like games from the 90s). You are pretty much forced to turn on the speed up feature at which point you can't even appreciate the animations.
The writing is average to me, which didn't help cover up the bad gameplay.

I think it's worth it. Maybe read up on the characters a bit before or while playing the game. I think the story is fine, and the interactions between the characters are great.

for me this is the best part of the game, the interactions between the 6 champions. it further develops their characters more than how they've been showed in the LoL moba game. even worth more if you're interested in their background short stories in the web.

Never played anything League of legends nor ever bothered to look into it.

But I liked the game here for its characters, voice acting and great moods.
It is very well made in that regard.

Still no plans ever to touch League of legends itself though, not into that sort of games at all, but this one is nice and it would be interesting to see another in the same universe.

that too my problem with the league of legends franchise itself. i love the art designs of this series. especially ahri and her lore. but the main game that represent this franchise is a moba... which doesn't offer much way to show the world of runeterra to newcomers because players of moba tend to be only concerned of chasing bigger numbers and ranks, with skins that arre lore friendly, not canon and nonsensical being mostly the promising reward after that... this ruined king game is the right step to tell the stories and struggles of runeterran universe, aside from the card collectible game legends of runeterra, official side books, promotional videos, wikis and stuff like that.

You should try legends of runeterra then, card game and basically f2p to the bone

yeah i'm currently playing it. not for the competition though, just to unravel more lore about ahri and see the interactions and banters between the characters. currently also waiting for riot's new runeterran mmo, because it'll definitely allow us to immerse ourself more into runeterran world.

I didn't knew this game was related to LoL

When i saw the name and the art , i tought it was an "Iratus-lord of the dead" spin-off or sequel

Kinda dissapointed it has nothing to do with Iratus , nor playing as the necromancer looking dude on the cover art
