I'm sorry, but just....wow.
This isn't League. This is a narrative driven game. The MMO is going to be more open ended considering its genre. But sorry, not sorry on just being astounded on how you acted about all this.
And yes, i'm a huge LoL fan. To expect a *single player* rpg to have a 130+ roster to appease fanboys? Not likely. This isn't Chrono Cross or the Suikoden games. I'll be happy if they have an interesting story and gameplay. Given their past games, i'm hopeful.
A final thought: What would you equate top 10 champions to? That changes per patch. That comment alone made very little sense.
Narratively speaking they picked champions from specific regions, plus those that are popular. And last of all, they picked champions that filled the character archtypes from the previous game the developer made, if my understanding of others comments are accurate. The regions that we know are in or referenced in the game so far are Bilgewater and Shadow Isle.
As for only recognizing Ahri, Ahri released in December 2011. Miss Fortune released in September 2010, proceeding Ahri by over a year. The rest have been released between 2013 and 2018. So they're by no means new champions.
I can understand wanting your "favorite" League champions, but this isn't a carte blanche game. They have a specific story in mind with these six champions. As another poster said, there may be other that cameo as npcs, but for playable these are the ones we have.
If this game is a commercial success, i'm sure this will encourage other stories to be told with other champions. It's no different than their upcoming animated series on Netflix taking place in Piltover and Zaun with only a few champions.
Yes, that's MF.
Wow what? i just asked if there were going to be more champs to play as, was told theres only 6 for the story mode and said ive got no reason to play it, dont understand what about my desire to have more character options astounds you, its not like i said wow what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game how dare they only have 6 champs when they have years of lore and champs and plenty of money to have an expanded character base for a single player game. i dont care, its not that serious, i just have zero interest in playing the games with the champions they are making you play as, its literally that simple, good job getting up on some kind of high horse over a casual question about a video game lol. im still playing league of legends, im not talking ♥♥♥♥ or being an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, i wouldnt play mortal kombat with just 6 fighters and i dont personally like playing any of the champs theyve got in this game, therefore, Bummer, i have no interest in playing it then
Wasn't upset. Was more amused at how easily you just lost complete interest. Not everyone online is out to vilify or get worked up. Text is toneless. My point is plenty of fans are interested in the lore, even if they have preferred champions. The ruined king is meant to be a cross platform big lore and game event with this game's release at the center. So plenty of players are interested one way or another.
As for the quoted part above, it was a genuine question. What metric would you use to judge top 10 champions?
oh well then my apologies for getting defensive, fair point, and im not sure what kind of data gets collected from games played but when i say top 10 im thinking of who are the most played champs overall
Miss Fortune - She was involved in the Harrowing storyline Shadow and Fortune[universe.leagueoflegends.com]. She meets up with Lucian in this story and encounters Hecarim and Thresh.
Illaoi - Also featured in Shadow and Fortune
Ahri & Yasuo - They are shown at the end of the Kin of the Stained Blade cinematic heading towards Bilgewater.
Pyke - Currently unknown but he has ties to Bilgewater at least, though I'd really love to know how he winds up following MF
Braum - Currently unknown. I've dug around but there's nothing to connect Braum or the Freljord to Viego/Shadow Isles so I guess his motivations will be revealed eventually.
The year started off with the Ruination cinematic, though with Ruined King's delay apparently the Ruination event itself was pushed back. The Ruined King trailer is canonically directly after Kin of the Stained Blade, so I hope it makes a little more sense why four of these champs were chosen, MF especially because of her tie to Lucian.
Well done. I has forgotten a bit of these. Thanks for the effort and putting it all together.
