This game is a masterpiece.
I felt invested from the beginning in the story. This game is more then just trying to reach your co-pilot and get rescued, it is an emotional journey.
As the story progressed and I learnt more about Kai the more I was invested into finding Donovan.
Learning more about Will and what Kai failed to do to save him made me more invested into finding Donovan, refusing to make the same mistakes again. When I was faced with hard choices I always prioritised moving forward and getting to him sooner.
The story gave us clues and info about what was really going on with Holly's recording allowing us to doubt and question reality leaving us to question what was going on. When we heard back from Donovan after he disappeared I felt something about him was off, how did he know about certain info or to know where to send us. I started to speculate about what had happened to him, believing him to already be dead. When I found him I was left shocked that he was still alive and didn't expect the hardest choice ever at the end. I was left emotional at my choice I had to make.
This game has been an amazing journey from start to finish.
I recommend you play this how you feel you need to. Make your choices and make your mistakes. These choices and mistakes matter and will make you feel more invest and help you to connect with the characters. Do not be afraid of the mistakes you've made on your journey, embrace it.

Having to use weights to hold down the 'W' and SHIFT keys are the hallmark of great game design ... :)

Seriously though, the story is great, the voice acting is pretty good, the conversation between you and your robot companion is interesting. But what other people have said about the levels being too big and full of nothing is correct. My hand was getting sore holding down SHIFT and W to just walk forward so I did literally have to put stuff on my keyboard to keep going.

Also the breathing exercise thing sucks. I got so tired of doing that, it takes so long and you have to wait for Alfie to stop talking to do it. It is obnoxious and unenjoyable.

However, if you look at it more like a first person visual novel, it is pretty good. I'd recommend it on the basis of story and atmosphere, even if the 'gameplay' is pretty drab.
