Not fun for new players

This game has NO instructions to start off. There's vague letters stating some badly written 'lore' but nothing that actually states what you have to do. It cannot be true that you have to watch youtube videos and get 'seasoned' players to join just to win on NORMAL mode. Either you make the level easier or you add a 'beginner' mode.

Also the fact that stealth isnt a thing in this game, is absolutely insane. You dont get rewarded for doing things in a clever manner.
In The Inn, Anna teleports through doors, camps outside them and instakills you, keeps chasing for multiple minutes even with 7% speed boost and UV light to stagger her. (Normal mode btw)

All of these things combined makes the game have 0 reward for new players and honestly, I wouldnt recommend it to anyone.

I bought this game for my friends and I. New to horror games. after the first 20 minutes of playing the first game we got the hang of it. in three games we beat the asylum easily in normal mode. We have now beaten as of right now The Inn, The slaughterhouse and the map with sam and his revolver. this game on normal mode is ridiculously easy with proper planning. We easily got the hang of it all 4 of new players. We bought this game friday night, it is now saturday morning. In less than 2 days we have beaten 4/5 maps. This game is mad easy and it doesnt have to tell you anything directly because everything is right in front of you. if you are too retarded to simply look around the map for symbols or read the notes then im sorry the game its not the problem but its you.

With 4 players i bet it is an easy game but 2 player not so much.

Didn't hate the game but yeah its a bit of an artificial wall that requires grinding and i guess i didn't want to spend that many hours in this game anyways. So my bad.

I had the benefit of playing with a friend that knew what to do, but i feel like the game does a decent job at pointing you in the direction of what to do. The levels are also designed to build on each other.
First map is farm, it introduces the food/animal mechanic and basic keys.
Second map is asylum which introduces the secondary item mechanic with fuses (and makes you use it to begin the map).
Third map is the inn which introduces cleaning and rune matching. it gives you your first ritual item when you trigger the start so you know what to look for. it also introduces creatures stealing your items.
Fourth map is the town and it ties them all together.
fifth map adds in resource scarcity to make it more challenging.

I bought his for me and 3 friends, no idea what the hell we're doing and the tutorial is utter garbage. We decided to quit the game, and find a guide for the start as nothing is explained I would refund this otherwise.

The game is based on the fact that you constantly improve on the given map, get to know it, build a strategy, etc. no one said it's a beginner friendly game, but most people love this game because it can maintain the challenge for a relatively long time.
Each map has a unique challenge/strategy and they try to increase it with each new release.

I think the missions of the maps themselves are quite clear anyway, so a tutorial is not necessary, especially since it would only make the game worse for the previous reasons.

If you played smart, you wouldn't get caught, you won't be "smart" because of hiding and sneaking lol, but because you use the right strategy and allocate your time well and plan ahead with the necessary items.

Long story short, the game is all about challange.

Played pretty much for the first time tonight. I've owned the game forever. Played with my brother and we had a blast. It wasn't hard to figure out. Not sure what the issue is
