We actually already have a bunch of anti-cheat methods in place but I understand they are not good enough yet. The main issue we have is that Devour runs on a P2P network (we do not host dedicated servers, because we're way too small of a company to maintain that effectively) and so it can be very difficult to prevent cheating.
My main advice is to host yourself so that you can vote kick cheaters. Failing that, play in a private server with friends or members of the community found in our Discord server.
We'll continue to look into ways in which we can prevent cheating on public lobbies in future.
