I really want to play this game...But I hate jumpscares T_T

What got me into playing Phasmophobia was the co-op multiplayer aspect and the fact that the scares comes from the amazing atmosphere and the unsettling but a bit more subtle events that happen in the game. It was horrifying, but it never jumpscared me. It however, still scared me in a sense where I was still thinking about horrifying experience playing that game, which is a good thing, but it never made me unpleasantly jump out of my seat.

However, this game does the awful generic cliche where if you're caught, the horrifying thing pops in your space and lets out a loud unpleasant sound. I hate that stuff. It looks so fun though, almost as fun as Phasmophobia. But I hate jumpscares with a burning passion. They are cheap.

I think jumpscares when you're caught or you die are fine. They aren't necessarily cheap. Which is what this game does.

However jumpscares that pop a random png or gif on your screen with a loud sound at complete random with no absolute reason are indeed cheap.

There is a mute jumpscare option in options.

I would love to play this game with my friends, but I agree, when I watched vids where the stalker took up the whole screen and screamed it became really unpleasant.

I wish the devs would include an option where that aspect could be turned off, otherwise it does show quite a bit of promise.

Just turn off sound for jumpscares in the options and it is much better no worries
