How the heck do you survive "Saving private The Bloody"
I was doing well till i started getting hit by waves from two sides of the map. I assume part of its it it just takes me forever to tech into tier 3 but still

Try placing resource storage one square away from your woodcutters/stonecutters to get good resources going. Build everything in excess, barracks, builders, you want a quick response to any action you do. An easy way to get the coins early is selling a bunch of wood, because wood is easy to get a ton of. If you see an enemy wave coming from a direction, you can save, wait for the enemies to come, and then build walls at the places they walk to and base the defenses there. Siege engines help a lot with big hordes, tons of crossbowmen and all that. Tier 3 definitely helps, because it offers an infinite alternative to all resources. Some people say you need a build order or something, try building builders and log cutters at the start for sure. As for walls, make sure to at least double layer your walls, i use around 4 personally. And take your time, the game has a pause button so you can collect yourself.

The big thing that killed me was terrain splitting their army so they attacked from 3 directions. So how many houses to farms?

Im stuck on that mission too, I die at day 37 from the double wave. The water splits the wave into like 3 groups. Another problem I have is my trebuchet and archers cant hit the melee enemies when they are right in front of the wall.

I also have trouble breaking through the prison. I did 2 tries at around 260 pop and couldn't push through with tier 2 units. Second attempt was rushing to tier 3 and using trebuchet to outrange his artillery but that strategy takes to long and i end up dying to the double wave

Something worth doing. I did it for the achevement was scout the map with the look out towers and then load and early save after finding the prision

I can give you a tip the it takes no more than 13 days to reach tier 3 townhall even in the worst conditions

I ended up beating it, had to power macro to tier 3, and save scum a few times to find the prison so I could beat it before the double wave starts happening. You really have to play the economy game I had close to 1k pop at the end.

First few tries I underestimated how hard you had to macro and just tried to beat it as fast as possible, since the previous missions I was able to beat it under 300 pop when the reality is you should turtle and just focus on economy until you have a big tier 3 army and base surrounded by walls

hmm, just spam your economy early on to get lots of stuff. Upgrade resource buildings when you advance the town hall, then build a barracks and engineering building. Place walls at the chokepoint and behind each chokepoint have 10 spearmen and 4 catapults. When the enemy break through the walls they will attack your spearmen but a lot of enemeis will stay attacking the walls so the walls serve to break up their forces into smaller waves. It is unlikely your catapults will hit anything while the walls are still standing unless you micro them to attack ground, but when the walls go down the spearmen will tank them while the catapult put AoE on them. light cavalry and horse archers are very good for fast map clearing and you should use the horse archers to help defend during sieges, their arrows arc high so are less likely to hit your walls and miss, the light cavalry you should send around the enemy in a wide arc to kill their siege weapons

Btw T3 tier hall usually isnt necessary but if you go for it then you can send packs of 10 mounted knights to rapidly clear the map, and you should use trebuchets for defense as they hit a lot harder than catapults, have a much higher aoe, and their shots arc better so they can hit over walls much easier. If you have a lot of trebuchets and walls that are 2-3 layers thick you can just tell the trebhuchets to attack ground on the other side of the wall and they will slaughter everything

I tried to do everything on this mission on one run. got bloody at about day 25 and ended up diing because the whole map rushed me and i had two areas that where not defended due to only two waves for the final one. I was holding those two but lost bloody next to base due to too much happening. now that I got that achievement I believe re-rolling till you have three things should make this map easy

1) make sure you have 4 stone deposits for fast stone for tear 2 upgrade
- this lets you get spear-man before 1st wave, 5 of them with 5 healers should mop up that wave with starting archers.
- this also is everything you need to face-roll the map. look out for bombees as they can kill your front lines if you don't have enough ranged to kill.
- all 4 corners can be the prison and either you will need tear 3 units, or ALOT of tear 2 units to face-roll them.

2) make sure you have 2 iron deposits to eliminate the need to buy iron for tear 3 and units.
- this should free up market requirement early letting you go full econ after light tear 2 units.

3) make sure you have a defend-able tight base. the smaller you make your base or choke points the easier it will be to defend and the less economy you will have to dedicate to it.
- this is easy to just use towers to search a little around your base and if you like the map then load the mission start to re-fresh the map without re-rolling. else just restart to reroll.
- The tighter you make the choke points the less tribies you will need. if you time it right you can have a constant tribie bombard on a small choke, letting you mop the rest with one tower of crossbows and 1 tower of Balis. 4 should be ok, but more will make it even easier.
this mission is impossible. I saved him on day 27 but can't defend the last wave. I didn't make walls or defence, I just tried to defend with army but i feel like it's impossible
