Impossible ammo economy
I feel like no matter how conservative I am with my shots (hitting only headshots with the auto pick up ammo perk on) I still cannot hold onto ammo for the life of me. Trying to solo Road Rage makes me run out of ammo 100% within the first half of the heist.

Is there a perk im not seeing, or is every rifle just have horrible ammo in this game?

As a reminder, you do start with only half the max ammo you could be carrying. Some of the weapons also seem to be questionable with their damage at times. It almost seems like some weapons are meant for stealth only and other loud only, it could be me seeing things though.

I get that, but even when collecting all ammo drops im losing ammo constantly

i dont think you will lost ammo fast if you cycle between primary and secondaries constanly, and it much harder to actually become ammo efficient on solo because you can only gain ammo by yourself, while on miltiplayer, you can get ammo drops from enemies your friend kill, because now ammo drops is not shared between the players ( lets just say 1 ammo drops can be taken by all players now)
Have a good secondary weapon to backup your primary.

use ak or shotgun

I find that using the revolver a lot to get kills keeps my ammo up for my primary up pretty well. Its pretty easy to headshot enemy's with it as long as you have a human shield to cover you up. I use the perk that lets you make a cop surrender so im sure it makes this task a lot easier compared to someone without it.

I feel this, the entire heist I'm focused on finding ammo the whole time

Funny, I tend to always have full ammo on Overkill.

High damage weapons are king, the SA A144 and the double barrel shotgun are GODLIKE for ammo economy and have 1 shot capabilities on normal swat. Edge will help as more damage = less spent ammo (Though that should be obvious)

Get SA A144 and Castigo 44

Goodbye ammo problems (provided you do headshots).

Mower perk tree has "Replenish" which can help with the issue.

Sharpshooter perk tree is also great for improving damage of your shots and therefore ammo economy as well as providing easy edge buff that you will need for "Replenish".

Engineer perk tree lets you set up two sentry turrets and its insanely OP and you wont be using any ammo at all for those.

Lastly i agree with you OP. With automatic weapons ammo seems a bit scarce.

i have never once fully run out of ammunition, i honestly don't know what you're doing to end up in that situation. buy an ammo bag asset i guess.

Probably using the CAR-4. Literally one of the worst ammo econ guns tbh.

Use both of your weapons and swap between them. Also, aim for the head or close to it. Headshots do MASSIVE damage in this game compared to bodyshots on anything that's not a security guard or standard police officer. It could almost be said they've got the equivalent of 2 ticks of body armor. If you're still having trouble, consider investing in the ammo line. Ammo bags are at a premium in higher level play as most loud players run armor or meds so you'll be helping your team too.

assault rifles typically have poor ammo pickup especially considering shot-to-kill rates. try the shotguns, marksman rifles, or smgs maybe and you'll have a different experience
