Payday credits.
♥♥♥♥ this.
PD2 is my most played game on Steam but PD3 will go straight to the trash.
I know the devs are greedy for every penny.
Just wait for the hype to go down and they will give the game for free just like the second one ....
Q: Will PAYDAY 3 have microtransactions?
A: Yes, you can buy PAYDAY Credits separately, however these are only for purchasing additional cosmetic items. These will not affect the gameplay. The PAYDAY Credits will be added post launch.
three things that concern me about this:
1. post launch they'll retract that statement and introduce game affecting credits
2. good-looking unlockables will be only through MTX despite being a paid game
3. introduction of battlepass or sorts that will have locked content behind paywall
and let's not forget that the game has also yearly "season pass"
Even then "Okay if it helps the game like Payday 2 and keeps content thats okay, still not happy"
But, hearing that theres going to be actual microtransactions and premium ingame currency, not to mention the devs handling it as a "Games as a service", going to be skipping out on Payday 3, it was a fun run crew but not taking part in this blatant greed.
I wouldn't even play that for free.
Modern gaming is great isn't it? Thankfully Deep Rock Galactic has a free update coming in a couple days with a FREE battle pass that I'm going to enjoy grinding out, at least there are some good developers/publishers out there still.
translated from a german gaming site:
When Payday 3 is released in September, it will not be a full-price game in the basic version. The co-op shooter will be released on the PC as well as on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S at a price of 39.99 Euros. For 30 and 50 euros more, respectively, there are two more editions that guarantee additional content. Besides a three-day pre-release access and cosmetic bonuses, there is also the Season Pass, but its scope depends on the version.
The so-called Silver Edition for 69.99 Euros only includes the Silver Season Pass, which covers the first six months of DLC. According to the Starbreeze FAQ, two Heists, two Weapon Packs and two Tailor Packs, which contain cosmetic outfits, will be released during this time. For 89.99 Euros you can buy the Gold Edition with the Gold Season Pass, which lasts a total of twelve months and doubles the number of planned DLCs, i.e. four Heists, four Weapon Packs and four Tailor Packs.
In fact, there are already twelve DLCs planned for the first year of Payday 3. According to the developers, these can also be purchased separately, for example, if you only want to play the new heists.
But that's not all, because in addition to the DLCs, there will also be microtransactions. With the so-called Payday Credits, which are not part of the Season Pass, you will be able to purchase additional cosmetic outfits in the game. However, these will not have any influence on the gameplay, the makers assure.
The Payday Credits are not yet available for the release of Payday 3, but will be added later. When exactly? The FAQ leaves that open, as well as the planned pricing structure. It is possible that details will only be announced as soon as the credits are added to the game.
